On Saturday, August 22, we held a Japanese Culture Class.
The event took place in the audiovisual room and chess room on the 4th floor of the community center. A total of 44 participants from 10 different countries joined us.
From the moment they arrived to put on their yukata to the moment they finished getting dressed, we could see how excited everyone was!
After putting on their yukata, everyone moved to the auditorium on the 2nd floor, where we enjoyed a bon dance together.
With the help of the members of Yasuda Taiko Tomo-no-Kai, everyone formed a circle and had a great time dancing to songs such as “So-odori” and “Tanko Bushi.”
After that, we all headed to the Reiwa Summer Festival.
The participants performed the “So-odori” they had just learned in front of a large audience. Everyone looked like they were having a wonderful time dancing!
A huge thank you to everyone who participated, the accompanying family members and friends, our wonderful volunteers, the instructors who helped everyone put on their yukata, and the members of Yasuda Taiko Tomo-no-Kai. Thank you so much for making this event such a great success!!
